March of The Immortal Regiment

In an unprecedented global Victory Day event, over two million people across dozens of countries participated in 'Immortal Regiment' marches, carrying portraits of loved ones who sacrificed their lives for the victory over Nazism in World War II.  This global remembrance commemorated the 'Immortal Regiment'

Rt puts up an interactive march count map, of countries participating in this year's worldly event of 71 years ago, WWII.

In this year's march, 'Patton' I mean Putin, lead the march with hundreds of thousands of Russians.  His father in the photograph above, Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin, who defended the USSR and Europe from the Nazis was a conscript in the Soviet Navy, serving in the submarine fleet in the early 1930s. Early in World War II, Putin's father served in the destruction battalion of the NKVD.
