Earth Overview 24/7

UrtheCast is launching the world's first ever high definition, streaming video platform of planet Earth. The camera will be installed on the outside of the International Space Station through a joint effort with the Russian Space Agency. The camera will provide a 40 km (25 miles) wide, high resolution, color image down to as close as 1.1 meters. (3.6 feet)

In second half of 2013, video of Earth will begin streaming across the globe. Everyone from web surfers and smartphone users, to media representatives and agriculturists, will be able to use the UrtheCast platform to see world events unfold in near real-time. App developers will have access to open source Earth video data, while educators will be able to harness rich video for their lesson plans. What’s more, environmental monitoring services and humanitarian relief organizations will have access to dynamic imagery as an additional tool in their relief efforts. People will have access to current video footage from all over the world, enabling them to view the migration of elk in the Canadian Rockies, 2012 Summer Olympic events, protests in the Middle East, floods in the Indian sub-continent, hurricanes in the Gulf Coast, the Great Pacific Garbage Patch and iceberg calving off of Greenland.

UrtheCast will be broadcasting the globe, not just the stills in Google Earth of our landscape but as it is happening. Giving us yet a clearer picture of ourselves and that is being one with the planet that is changing our thinking as humans on Earth. One planet with all life on board, spaceship Earth. Many species living with humans and as we look down on every thing getting a better idea in which makes all this tic we need to make a great strive in learning how to get along with one another for the common good of all life, not just ours. Society is going to depend on this thinking if our civilization is to survive, for when the planet dies it's taking all life with it. We're going to need help with that and that will have to come from us. Do you think we can?
